Kareybear, the name of the place is Lancaster's. They've got 3 locations, and we went to the one nearest Charlotte. Word of warning...they are always PACKED, so be sure to get there early if you don't want a long wait. They had pretty good Fried Pickles. The batter is good & they slices are big. If you're gonna like 'em, you'll like theirs. Please let me know what you think.

Mmmm, I've heard of Fried Twinkies & Snickers, but I've never had one. Although I'd probably love them, I think it's in my best interest if I leave them alone. I'd get addicted, and there'd go all my extra money. LOL When I first heard of Fried Pickles, I thought they were crazy! But, because I love pickles, I had to try....I've been a gonner ever since.

Oh my goodness.....I don't think I'd make it out the door. LOL That is one place that is hard to resist!!! The smell of all that greasy food....shear heaven!!! I'll have to give that some serious thought! Thanks for lettin' me know. I didn't know when the fair was gonna be held.

Best Regards To All,

I've never heard of these... but thanks for the info... they sound yummy. I have a 13 year old boy who can eat a jar of pickles a day... if I let him... I'll have to try to make these for him.

Wink Fried Dill Pickles..yummmo

We too are fried dilly lovers.

So far we've found Fried Dills at Buckingham BBQ in Ozark and at Galloways Grill and Pub in Springfield. But the quest continues.

In what area of MO are you looking for these little delights?

Ahhhh, a woman after my own heart!!! Welcome to the search!!! We're in the SW area of MO. A little north of Springfield. However, we've just arrived in MO, and will be traveling the whole state to get more familiar with the area. So for now, I'm looking at where ever those little gems can be found.

I'll be sure to check out Buckinghams & Galloways....this is so exciting!!! Thank you for taking the time to share.

Boof

Default Fried Dilly's

Hey...we're just south of Springfield. Between us both we can suggest fried dilly's to every place we go. What's your favorite dipping sauce?

When we find 'em we'll share their location.

If your ever in the Vegas area, Lucy's BBQ in Henderson has great fried dills.
P-Town...the brewpub on mainstreet has the BEST dilly's with a honey-dijon dipping sauce to die for.

Default If you can't find 'em in the middle of the night..

Here's a recipe just in case you get the urge around midnight..

Fried Dill Pickles

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup ice water
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons dill pickle juice
6-8 medium to large dill pickles, sliced 1/4" or lengthwise into 4 strips.
oil for frying

Instructions:

Stir flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl.
Make a well in center, add water, egg yolk, and dill pickle juice, at the same time.
Stir with wire whisk to make a smooth batter.
Cover bowl and refrigerate 30 minutes.
Heat at least 3 inches of oil in deep fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
In batches, dip pickle slices in the batter to coat evenly and lightly.
Fry without crowding in hot oil until golden brown and crisp, 1.5 to 2 minutes.
Drain on paper towel and serve at once.
Dip in a sauce if preferred.
Makes about 8 servings as an appetizer or side dish.
