My Grammar?
Well...I bet that took you all day to figure out, but typing on an iPhone quickly is not always perfect. I hope you know that you really are making offensive statements to everyone who lives in this area. You make general assumptions that are not true. The fact is, you need to open your eyes and look at the great things offered in this community. If you want a catholic community, come to my suburb of Columbus, Kansas....wait don't do that, because you are such a jerk, no one will like you.

I was gonna tell him to go to Sainte Genevieve if he wanted Catholics, but I think he'd get tarred and feathered by those good folks.

Come on guys. We can have a civil conversation about the area without calling names and insulting each other. Everyone is free to have their own opinion. Mine is, Joplin is great! Not too big or small, but juuust right!

There IS NO PERFECT PLACE. Get used to the idea. The SW MO area has +- issues just as any other area in the world. Adjust to your circumstances. Don't like what you have? Figure out how to change it. I would venture a guess I could go to any community (pick one, doesn't matter) and find many things wrong.
When I moved here 30+ years ago, it was cultural shock. There are many things I still find lacking ~ entertainment is almost non-existent, food venues are a joke but the air quality is pretty good, traffic is generally not an issue, housing costs are overall realistic ~ but considering the average income, it has to be. Ha ha. I was raised in the SF Bay Area of CA, so I do know the difference. Religion is what you make of it ~ I wouldn't allow others to influence my personal beliefs. End of story.
