please show me WHERE in the Revised Statutes of Missouri there is a provision for a criminal penalty for inhumane breeding conditions.... I have looked and looked and I just don't see it.... There is a provision for a CIVIL penalty, breeder can lose his license... big whoop ... but not a word about any sort of criminal penalty....
just to make it easier for ya', it is in chapter 273, sections 325 - 357 ... also known as the "Animal Care Facilities Act."

I respect your choice and do not think poorly of you for making that decision.
I also respect my decision to voice my opinion, my vote and my feelings about this issue. I have worked with animals and their families, with towns and cities and their people for decades, and I know what I am talking about, too.
I work on both sides of this issue, and side with the individual over the organization every time. The individual should always have more rights than the organization.
I am glad to see our politicians taking a second look at what happened here in Missouri, and are acting on that.
The regulations on the books are more than sufficient, additional wording is not needed. Do you realize that enforcement is the problem, not the law itself?
Do you know dog clubs in Missouri and Illinois refuse to hold dogs shows in Saint Louis due to the wording of its statutes? That national dog clubs do not want to deal with reduced entries because of threatening wording of those kinds of statutes?
|
how does one work on both sides of this issue??
and what happens when the politicians decide to take a 2nd look at a bill that you approve of?? will that be ok too??
where in St. Louis City would a dog club hold an event?? because your argument is invalidated by all of the events held at Purina Farms in Gray Summit.....

Nothing veiled at all...my words exactly.
Accusations??? Not at all.
I don't mind at all..."the greatest form or flattery".
I don't imagine I am the only one who thinks this way, matter of fact I am not.
But, I do recognize my own words. A lot of my thoughts are all over the web...copy and paste happens a lot.

States have statutes. Cities have ordinances.
I just scanned the St. Louis Animal Ordinance. She's probably talking about Section 10.04.270 Dangerous Dogs.
I remember a few years ago when Louisville, Kentucky enacted a similar ordinance and there was a backlash from dog show attendees there. I have not followed the status of Louisville's ordinance but I remember that dog shows were planning to move their shows elsewhere due to wording of their (Louisville's) animal ordinance.
One thing's for sure,... Proposition B has nothing to do with these ordinances.
St. Louis City Ordinance 66384

I was speaking of venturing out here in CD, I dont recall seeing you in any of the other forums......
Did I miss or forget?
What I'm driving at is that this thread is very tame compared to some of the non-state forums here.

Somehow, I don't see you rectifying anything, ever.
And, I never said anyone copied and pasted here, though the wording is exactly mine. It really doesn't matter does it?
St. Louis is not dog friendly, now animal owner friendly, and yes, it smacks very much of the Louisville ordinances.
There are lots of shows here in Missouri, and most are not held at Purina. Purina has some issues, though I hear they are being fixed this year....which would be nice for exhibitors.
No one said the puppy mill bill had anything to do with STL ordinances.
Animal control is being guided by this bill....I've seen it in action.
Both sides: I work with owners and animals in need and with authorities. So, I see it from both sides.
