Watch out for the dadgum city slickers, who come down here from St. Louis. They ought to bring cameras, not rifles and here's why: Why.

Right cause we'd never hear any crazy stories about local boys, beer and guns.

Go to Wal Mart listen to them.I kid you not they was Looking at Food Plot Seed to get ready, couldn't explain that it takes months. Then there was the Guy Clerk asked if he wanted Bonus Tag? No I'm hunting Private Ground.

I've having issues with people setting woods on fire and letting Dogs run Deer.

Was it someone from the city? Was it someone from around here who was not careful?
Who knows?
These foolish mistakes happen. It especially hurts when the animal is a youngster's pet.
I talked to some of my buddies at work about it. They all figured it was somebody from St. Louis who came down here to hunt.

Default Shots fired!

...three of them while I was out picking up my newspaper this morning. What a comfort to know it's because deer season opened yesterday and not drive-bys. Love it here in the Aux Arcs!

I will be setting in my tree stand as of "O dark thirty" tomorrow morning.

We have already harvested a nice 8 pointer off my 50, I couldn't hunt opening day last week since it was Dad's day at Mizzou with my daughter.

So my cousin's SIL sat in my stand and killed my deer.
It was his first ever so it's all good.

Deer Harvest Map | MDC

The top counties seem to be mostly the same as far back as I can remember. Macon, Franklin and Texas always seem to have the higher counts.
