we live in Southern AR...If he does get it it will be in the Poplar Bluff area, all the research I have done, shows an extremley high crime rate for that area. I did notice some smaller towns like Naylor near by that had a low crime rate...I was just wondering what all the bad is and whats the good? like pros and cons...i have read atleast 100 threads about MO and none of them seem to tell me anything i didnt already know.
Moving to another state no where near family or friends is a big step, and from what i have heard MO doesnt seem like a very good idea..im trying to keep an open mind though, so I thought it might help just to talk to some ppl that live there.
And if you would live there, where would be a good place to check out near the Poplar Bluff area? Is there good elementary schools?churches? nice/friendly ppl?family activities?

Think twice about moving
I would suggest looking at other places to live. My family moved here 11 months ago and we're out of here. If do move to Missouri I will give you some advise, TRUST NO ONE. They take advantage of you anyway they. Their schools, housing, newspapers, services all below standard. THANK GOD we're moving.

this may be a stupid question buuut, i noticed besides Poplar Bluff the med income is between $14,000-$21,000 a yr. But when I was looking at houses for sale, they were like between $700,000-$98,000..how on earth can you afford a house that expensive if you dont make but like $7-9 an hr!??!?! I expected a wide variety of cheap houses, but besides forclosures, their non-exsistent. I dont see how people live, thats just crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy.

Goodness! I don't know where you people live or have been but you certainly have seen a side of Missouri that I have never see or heard of. I've lived here all my live in three different cities and nowhere did I have any problems. From large towns to small all the people have been extremely friendly and easy to get along with. Houses in the central part of the state run between $220,000 and $60,000, with the median being $120,000 to $145,000. Median income is certainly above $21,000. Don't know where you got your figures from. Could very well be that in Poplar Bluff as I am not familiar with the area. And I take issue with the statement that our schools, housing, newspapers and services are all below standards. Newspapers maybe but the rest are excellent. Just because you may have had a bad experience please don't run down our entire state.

i got that avg from about 3-4 different staistical websites..like you google..Naylor, MO for ex. and it will give you the crime rate, med income, population, etc.
