Default Info on life in Warrensburg or Holden Missouri

My family and I will be moving to the Warrensburg or Holden area around July or August. Any information on the area would be appreciated. I've read the chamber website, but would like to hear from someone who has lived there. What to expect during the winter, are you're electric bills high? Any information on the schools, churches and community would help.

The winters are not too bad anymore. Used to be below zero a lot but that hardly happens. The worst thing in the winter sometimes its cloudy a long time. You can have days where its in the 40s or 50s but it does get down to zero but rarely. Mostly its about 25-35 degrees. Lately it seems we have more ice storms then snow storms. Warrensburg is a nice area near Sedalia, MO where they have the State Fair every year. If you like small towns, I think you will like Warrensburg. I do not live there, I live in Kansas City. Electricity and heating bills depend a lot on the type of home you have and how well insulated, etc. Its not a high cost of living area compared to many.

I've lived near there. Personally, Holden is more my style. It still has a small town atmosphere. Warrensburg is a college town, so it has more activity.

Winters can be cold, but it doesn't snow very often. If it does it will be less than 5". However, sometimes you can get a 10 - 15 inch snow. Cold weather typically lasts from December to March.
