kfrazier - welcome to CDF, and great posts! Thanks for the info; very helpful.
lol, as to the sinkholes, yes, they are not that common, but I've maybe at times a warpeled sense of humour and twisted means of looking at the world So, when the OP mentioned this area, just had to relay how the name West Plains equates to Karst Plains, in a manner of speaking. And then it snowballed from there... as forums often do. ![]() Anyhow, again, great info w/in your posts. |

My mother works at the hospital, and it is struggling, but they have good care from what she tells me. I love the Dora area, my mother lives in Gainseville, and we stayed at "the river of life" resort. Man that place is beautiful, the cabins are built way up in the trees, the river is just gorgous there. It is some of my favorite area, I enjoy Bull shoals lake as well.

Whoa, this is too freaky ~ I just discovered this thread, I live in West Plains, and my maiden name is K. Frazier!
I did a double take to see if I'd registered here before! That is our city, pretty much, in a nutshell. My husband and I enjoy attending events at the Avenue Theater and frequenting the many rivers, springs, etc. in the area. There are tons of opportunities for swimming, canoeing, fishing, hunting, etc. My hubby loves to hunt & fish and is able to do so here much more than where we lived previously. I can't think of much more for now. We really love our church; I'd be glad to refer anyone who is "shopping" for one. |
