I would look into Salem, Lebanon, Houston, Bolivar, Nevada, Macon, Moberly, or Sedalia.

I'd delete Lebanon from that list. I don't know enough about Macon to say yea or nay. The others are all good places from what I've heard from folks who live or have lived there or from what I've read.

I think Owensville would be a good place to live, as would be Vienna.

I would knock Vienna off your list...my Aunt has lived there for 30 years...it's a trap.

Troy is another excellent small town not far from surburbs in St. Charles County.

I believe much of far western St. Charles County is still rural so is Warren County with several nice small towns by I-70.

If I ever move to live near St. Louis, I would pick Lake St. Louis or surrounding towns and Chesterfield.

I would pick somewhere around the Branson area. There are a lot of tourists IN Branson but if you look north of town it's growing.
