Task Force 1 finds 'complete devastation' in Joplin - Columbia Missourian

Has anyone been in contact with Ozarksboy or brushrunner? Should we do a rollcall to see who else from SW MO hasn't been heard from yet on CD?

Ditto. There was quite a bit of devastation and destruction in Minneapolis as well, but seeing what happened to Joplin on TV it pales in comparison....unreal!

My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Joplin MO. I remember my parents telling me of their visit to that very town back in the early 60s. They told me that they came across very warm and friendly people.:'-)

It's the people. It's always the people. Last night we were surrounded by funnel clouds and neighbors with basements were out-and-about jeopardizing their own safety inviting any neighbors without basements to come share theirs. That's the attraction.

It's good to live in America!

Condolences to those who suffered losses and prayers for all and their continued safety. It's good to be a Missourian!

WOW, listening to this brought tears to my eyes. One can only imagine the fear that those people felt; I'm so glad they all came out of this unharmed. My sincerest prayers go out to all of the souls who were affected by this.

My grandma called about this tornado yesterday. Absolutely horrible. She had actually gone to St John's in the morning and has been there a lot lately, so I am very grateful that she wasn't in the hospital when the tornado hit. My relatives out there are fine, as far as I know, but some of my mom's cousins have lost their homes.
