The Midwest is much cooler compared with the Plains recently. The low temperatures were in the 30s in some areas of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota a few days ago.
I hear ya, Plains! There is a tree across the street from us that is losing its leaves and I asked my husband about it the other day. We KNEW it wasn't because it got any sort of "fall" vibes or signal to drop its leaves, yet...but we didn't know what type of tree it is. We wondered if it could be because of the heat and/or dry conditions but since it is at the lowest point on the knoll, we couldn't imagine that it was getting less than the other trees above and around it. I saw a few more trees that looked like it today so I am glad to know that it is a Sycamore and how sensitive they are.

We got some rain yesterday and a couple of times so far, today. The ground is still wet and more looks to be on its way. As a matter of fact, we are under a flash flood watch! Hahaha! I doubt that will happen, though. Lots of thunder and lightening, yesterday! My husband, who LOVES rain, was so disappointed when we were driving home from church and he learned that it had rained in our area and he wasn't there to see it! Hahaha!

I can't believe it has already been so cold anywhere in the country! It is about 80 degrees right now (8:30pm) and we had a high of about 87, I think. Now, THOSE are temps I can live with!!!

I can hardly wait...it was 104 again today here in Tucson and I have to admit, the heat this year has really taken it's toll on us.....we had 38 straight days of temps over 100 (and that was at the BEGINNING of the summer)....we are just waiting for the monsoons to wind down and some cooler air to come and bless us!

I think this may of been the deserts way of sending us off with something to remember since we won't be here next year!! (Thank God for that)!! We can't wait to move into our new home on the lake......

I'm with you, NWVoyager! This is awesome! I'm afraid it's gonna get steamy as we go along but I hope the cooler temps help it not be too uncomfortable.

My husband loves the rain so much that I woke him up this morning so he could be sure to enjoy it before it was gone! Hahaha! He didn't mind it a bit!

Make it a great day, everyone!

MrsG

P.S. Come on home, ONana! I can see that Gravois Mills is right on the tip of a lake. What fun! And what a difference from AZ!!! You're in for an adventure!
