Default a good realtor-need help

My family will moving to south east part of springfield - webster or douglas county. I have heard on the forums that a person needs to be very careful which realtor they choose. Is there anyone out there that had a good experience. Hardworking, not too pushy, professional, honest.

Thanks

Any insight as to why someone would need to be "very careful" about choosing a realtor here? I can't see any reason that the Springfield market (and realtors) would be different than any other part of the United States.

Exclamation Be afraid...be very afraid...

Because 8snake...realtors are NOT PEOPLE!
They are computer VIRUSES!
They will attack your hard drive and NEVER let it go!
You'll be getting magnetic calendars and Cardinals schedules FOR THE REST OF TIME!

You...whoever you are...be afraid.
Be VERY afraid.

Hee Hee. Sorry couldn't resist.

Ah, but they are Check around on some of the Real Estate Forums. Why, Realtors are at the bottom of everyone's list. Think of it as a 'good service' tho'. We help keep others from being thar

And Springfield Realtors? Whooo eeee. Now there is a group for yas. And having at one time worked with a few, I can honestly (what, a Realtor and Honest in the same sentance? Now there is an oxymoron for ya) say that most of them are some of the best souls to do business with.

Hey, Lake Junkie, great reply

THE TRICK IS TO FIND SOMEONE WHO CARES!

How didja find your mate?
Do the same thing with a realtor/salesperson of any form...

(Really...ya do need to find someone who cares...some of them really are sharks. )

I'M SORRY, BUT THIS PERSON ASKS FOR ADVICE, AND REALTORS YUK IT UP. NO WONDER PEOPLE DON'T GIVE US ANY RESPECT!

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A REALTOR, START WITH ASKING SOME OF YOUR NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS ETC. INTERVIEW THE REALTOR LIKE ANYONE ELSE YOU WOULD BE HIRING, HOW DO THEY ADVERTISE YOUR LISTING? DO THEY HOLD OPEN HOUSES, HOW MANY LISTINGS TO THEY HAVE? IF YOU HAVE AN OVERLY BUSY REALTOR WHO IS NOT SELLING MUCH, DO YOU WANT THEM? THEY MAY BE TOO BUSY TO RETURN YOUR CALL. WHILE WERE ON IT, SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES THEM TO CALL YOU BACK AFTER YOU CONTACT THEM TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT? ANOTHER TEST, HAVE A FRIEND CALL ABOUT ONE OF THE LISTINGS, SEE WHAT THEIR RESPONCE TIME IS. ASK THEM ABOUT THEIR COMMISSION AND HOW TO THE COMPENSATE THE OTHER AGENT? HOW DO THEY PRICE YOUR HOME, DOES IT SEEM REALISTIC? IF THEY JUST THROUGH A PRICE UP THEY THINK YOU LIKE, WALK AWAY, THEY ARE JUST GRABBING LISTINGS IN HOPES SOMEONE SELLS IT. IN A 2 WEEK TIME THEY WILL BE TELLING YOU TO LOWER THE PRICE. DON'T SELL A LONG CONTRACT (OVR 6 MOS) MANY AGENTS WILL NOT MAKE IS EASY TO GET OUT OF THE CONTRACT IF YOU ARE UNHAPPY WITH THEM. YOU CAN ALSO OFFER TO PAY A PORTION OF THE ADVERTISMENT FOR A LOWER COMMISSION RATE, AND THEN GET IT IN WRITTING THE YOU SEE THE ADS FIRST. WHILE YOUR AT IT, IF THE AGENT DOES NOT HAVE A GET OUT CLAUSE FOR THE CONTRACT, WRITE ONE. JUST SOME SUGGESTIONS. BUT WHEN YOU DO HIRE THE AGENT, DON'T YELL AT THEM JUST CAUSE YOU HAVE NOT HAD A SHOW IN A WEEK! IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO SELL HOMES AND THE HIGHER THE PRICE, THE LESS PEOPLE WHO CAN AFFORD IT. BE SURE YOU HAVE TO SELL NOW, UNLESS FORCED, STAY PUT. HOPE THIS HELPS

Excuse me, Barbara, but how does humor YUK it up?
I acknowledged the concern, gave a name, which is what was asked for...and Northwoods Voyager gave SpRltrs a big kudo...
AND BTW...the poster was asking for help buying, not selling.

BTW...anybody ever tell you that when you write in all caps, it's like SHOUTING?

When someone asks for help, you should be profession and give them good advice. Not more fears. Realtors have is tough enough getting people to trust them.

I thought the poster was selling their house to move, my mistake. Just the same, why not give them good advice on what to look for in a realtor instead of calling us a VIRUS.

Sorry about the caps, was on another site that did require the shouting.
