I would be pleased as punch if I was able to sell just enough of what I don't need to cover a chunk of my livestock expenses and tools.
Tractor? I think the most ambitious equipment I'll be buying is a rototiller and a side can milker.
I'm not in it to make a living, I'm in it to put more living into my life.
Unless you are interested in raising rocks, you will probably need to look further than the Ozarks.

Yep, I'm thinking she needs to come up further north to the beggining of the Ozark Foothills between Booneville/Columbia or Jefferson City. Her husband may be able to get on at a hospital in Columbia or Jefferson City. The winters will be a bit colder with more snow and more chances of tornados but the land makes for better farming, hills roll and not mountains with hardwoods vs. pine.

Don't you let them pull your leg dusky. We grow some of the prettiest rocks you ever saw down here in the Ozarks. You weren't here to meet our former Missouri agricultural expert who went by the handle 'marmac', but he was convinced there couldn't possibly be more than 734 acres of good farmland in the entire state of Missouri.

If he were still here, I am sure he would quickly inform you that the dang Corps of Engineers just flooded 712 of them.

That leaves 22 acres and I hear the owner just sold that field to a Wal-Mart.

Oh well.

Reminds me of the crazy trucker in the Bill Murray movie "Larger Than Life"
‪Jack Kittel - Psycho (Larger Than Life)‬‏ - YouTube
Particularly the rant in the restaurant about the government pork conspiracy.

I do manage to grow decent veggies in rocky and sandy dirt here in Arizona though. I just wouldn't try carrots or turnips...

Yes life is just a tad more boring without your buddy around to set us all straight on what a crappy little reservoir-filled, rock-infested state we live in.
