dusky beauty - I was doing a google search and your request for information on a location for your next home. If you are still looking and considering MO, we are selling our home on 10 acres in Lake Ozark MO and sounds like it could be perfect for your desires to have a farm. The Osage Beach hospital is 15 minutes from our house and Jefferson CIty has 2 hospitals which is about 35 minutes from our front driveway. We are secluded yet close to shopping. HyVee is 10 minutes away and outlet mall is 15 minutes away. 2 miles from the highway and .2 miles down gravel road to the house. check it out. MLS #3081892. Thanks. and good luck to you.

Howdy DB, if you are looking to have a small farm, and not have to pay an arm and a leg for it have you tried looking into Wayne county? Its really a beautiful area lots of lakes and rivers, hill areas because of the St.Francois mountain range, and its very affordable. The plus is you have major hospital complexes in Poplar Bluff, and Farmington areas, also lots of smaller hospitals scattered around. From the Piedmont area to Poplar Bluff its a 35/45 min commute. And 67 has been totally redone and its a major Highway now. Its def as country as you can get around here, and it sits in the Sam A Baker national forest area and close to wappapello.

The small towns are quaint, and yes Piedmont's main st. is actually called Main Street. There are two local grocery stores, a walmart in town, feed stores, hardware store, library post office lots of little shops and some fast food restaurants as well as down home restaurants , ambulance and fire station even Wayne county clinic with pharmacy. For a very small town it has a lot of stuff, and yet is still deep in the country with farms that are affordable.

If I had not gotten ill the last year, I would prob have stayed here. As it is I need to be close to relatives and treatment in St. Louis.
