Default A muralist vrs wallpaper.

I here an awful lot about Missourians and thier love of wallpaper. I have seen some pretty scary houses with turqoise walls, lots of wood paneling and such. I just wondered if I would be able to work much as a muralist in Mo. I am pretty good at what I do but I do realize its a matter of taste.
Murals are real popular here in Cali and surrounding areas. What do you all think?

Have seen some decent murals in office settings in many areas. However, not in many homes at all. In those homes that I have seen some interesting murals, it was in nurseries or as an accent in a den/office type room.

I painted a mural once on a wall in one of my bathrooms that had the laundry facilities in it also. Copied it from a picture of a woman carrying a basket of laundry on her head in a 'field' type setting.

Looked pretty good. Muted colours. But we added on to house and that wall was covered and a new doorway put through Lost my mural

Guess if a person had a brochure of their work and submitted it to the various office buildings/contractors, you might get an idea of whether or not something like that is accepted. Good luck if you do decide to do this.

Myself, I would love the actual 'real' human element of a person's own hand painting and actually creating a 'living' mural, to me that is so durn . Adds a personal touch, making the room more alive, more vibrant. Of course, the mural, as said above, can be very personal, depending upon a person's own tastes. So, yea, I like 'em - if done w/ quality, life, and a touch of fun into it all. Makes the room, house more personable... more unique... more interesting.

I love mural walls.... I love to paint. I have done quite a few murals myself. What I love about mural walls it looks so realistic and you can paint over it when you get tired of it..... when it comes to wall paper what a NIGHTMARE!!!!! Beautiful sometime but when it comes to changing. Headache and more Headache.... I think we need to make it Mural county somewher in Missouri...... It would be AWESOME!!!!

Cool Murals...

Honestly, I think in my area that would work.
We have so many high end homes and entertainment folks that if you marketed yourself properly I think it would be a big hit.
Do you have any pics of murals you've done?

One of the houses we were looking at online had wonderful murals situated all over ... I don't know if the home owner did them or what ...

If were me .. I would build a web site ... get that part started
come here and post flyer's .. have pics of your past work
get business cards printed up and be prepared to hand them out everywhere and anywhere - I still post my daycare on the restaurant's bulletin boards every time we enter .. I have picked up more clients that way than I did advertising in the paper.

Thanks you all. I show you some pics of my own house. I paint at a local Hospital here. Been there two years now. Most love it. Especially the children.
I was told by a nurse in the cancer ward the the pictures made kids want to get up and walk. They would search for the critters I hid in the Rain forest setting.
