You guys are just the best!
THIS is why people are flocking to Missouri!

We are planning on taking Friday off of work to put the final "spit & polish" on the house! We have been working every night after work to do whatever little things we can. Funny thing is, we have it all done up for regular open houses and showings, but there is something like a "real potential sale" that gets your butt in gear! We don't want to leave any stone unturned!

Continue to pray, not only for the sale of our home, but for us, as we exhaust ourselves to prepare for what we feel, may be our last shot.

Thanks again!

Default Three days to go--hang in there!

Maybe you have some relatives and friends nearby who might be able to lend you a helping hand on Friday as well!

Yep, Ozark Nana, it's essential we keep this forum thread on the front burner until the "SOLD" sign is up at last! Thank you for being such a good intercessor here, and I hope your son is recovering well too! I will keep praying for him each day.

As for you, SJF, it could really be that the finish line for you and your husband is in sight with getting your house sold! It'll be such a relief to have this behind you at the same time the weather there starts to cool off and you can enjoy the rest of the summer and then the autumn season. I was so happy when I found out I finished my degree in library school this past spring after feeling like I had been working on it forever. I know it'll feel like the same sense of happiness and relief for you too, that your house was picked over the others that appear on the AOK site.

And to all the rest of you, continued thanks for being such a great extended family to us, for all your good prayers and thoughts. Please keep it up--our Good Lord LOVES having all this attention and sure doesn't mind us pestering him on this request. Let's all lift SJF, her husband and anyone else who might be able to come over to their place, up in prayer for continued and renewed strength this coming Friday especially, and for a wonderful outcome with the potential buyers Saturday morning! God love you all!

Hi friends! I'm wondering if I could request a special favor from all of you regulars here in these Missouri forums. As you know, my wife and I are planning to follow in many of your footsteps by moving from California to Missouri within the next 6 to 9 months (give or take), and to St. Joseph in particular. A regular contributor to the St. Joe forums, StJoeFanatic, has been an invaluable help in providing me with key information about the city, and has even gone so far as to help me with some employment leads.

StJoeFanatic has put her house up for sale, and earlier today she wrote the following in the current St. Joe forum:

"Well, I have an update on that very topic: For the past month and a half, I have been in e-mail correspondence with a couple from another state in regards to our house. They were asking all the "right" questions...like, can the fireplace be switched from wood burning to gas? What kind of material is the upstairs tub made out of? Is there an area in the yard where we can fence in our dog? How deep is the sink in the kitchen? You know, the kind of questions a person wants answers to when they are serious and have already gotten the "basics" of the house (sq ft, bed/bath, upgrades, etc)

"So anyway, it seemed like a possibility until about 3 weeks ago, when she sent word that their situation had changed, and they were not going to be able to move as soon as they thought, maybe not even this year or next, so she was heartbroken and very sorry, but it was over.

"Now, keep in mind, they had never been to the house to see it...however, they are VERY familiar with the exterior and the neighborhood, as they use to live here right up the street and had always admired this house from a far. Plus, I sent her about 40 additional interior photos of things women require in a home, such as large closets, pantry space, etc... and men's things like the workshop, garage, etc.

"Forward to yesterday. I get word that they will fly in next Friday to see the house and that they are sending relatives over this Sunday to our Open House to see it. (Another relative has already been here to "check it out" about a month ago).

"Please, please, please cross your fingers for us. We are so due for some good news for a change." (END)

In short, this is about the brightest prospect StJoeFanatic has had since originally putting her house up for sale (she'll be moving to a different place right in town). Though we've never met face-to-face, we've become friends here just as I've had the pleasure and privilege of getting to know you guys via these forums. Recently, StJoeFanatic has had to drop the price on her house.

So....I'm stepping out in faith and asking all of you to join with me in praying for this situation. It will be such a relief for her, to say the least, if these potential buyers do in fact decide to purchase it. It's a wonderful house located close to St. Joseph's famed 26-mile parkway, in a great part of town. Please pray, cross your fingers, think good thoughts--whatever you're comfortable doing. It would really mean a lot to me if you'd spend a little time, especially this coming Sunday during her open house, and again on Friday 8/17 when the potential buyers themselves will look at the house, to keep all of them in your thoughts. StJoeFanatic really needs as many intercessors as possible right now. We would be thrilled beyond words if her house sells before I make my trip back there next month!

Heartfelt thanks to all of you for taking the time to read this!
NBEric,

All ya gotta do is ask. You say the word and I'm on it. Any friend of yours is a friend of mine!!! From here on, you, StJoeFanatic, will be in my prayers. In fact, I've told my DH and asked him to hold you and your DH in his prayers too. There is power in numbers!!!

StJoeFanatic, Having been in a similar situation a few months ago, we can seriously empathize with you. The emotions & stresses involved can become overwhelming at times. Especially like Eric mentions in that you have to keep your home in 'Pristine conditon' as if it were a Model home. But fortunately for us, we also had the power of prayer behind us...thanks to our family & friends. So it will be with much pleasure that we will join in with the others and pray that the Lord answers your prayers and leads you to realizing your dreams. It's time.

Please forgive me for reading this thread so late in the game. Hopefully all of the prayers that are being sent out have already helped in ways you so richly deserve. It is my sincere hope that your buyers will fall in love with your home, and move quickly to make it their own. You've waited long enough and deserve a day of celebration.

God Bless & Keep You Always!!! And Eric, that goes for you too!!! It is very selfless of you to rally support for StJoeFanatic. May the Lord bless you with friends just like you!!!

With Well Wishes & Prayers,
Boof

Thank you NB Eric for thinking of my son today! He's doing better. The Deacons at church will help them with their rent and car payment which was a true, true blessing to him. His wife cleans homes part-time so her wages will help too....so nice of you to think of him. Bless you

Thank you so much, MoNative (hoping to relocate there within about 6 more months), and that is wonderful news, O. Nana about the deacons at church helping your son and daughter-in-law so generously with their expenses while he's convalescing. Really good news! Do let your son know he's got a lot of people here behind him, from, uh, Table Rock Lake to shining sea!

Default At the doorstep....

We're here...today and tomorrow....the moment of truth, huh? You all have been just awesome and tremendous. Boof, NV, O. Nana, from the bottom of my heart I want to tell you how thankful I am to each of you for your prayers and support in lifting up SJF and Mr. SJF at this time.

The last finishing touches to the house, garage, and yards today, and then the (hopefully!) new owners arrive in about 18 more hours or so! Cue the snare drum, and here we go!
