salt river, mo history/gen ?s
does anyone know of any mining accidents in salt river, mo between 1920 and 1930? my gggrandmother was mintie valetta lowery (lowry). in the 1920 salt river township census her 2nd husband, amos henry lowry, was listed as a miner, and she a laundress. in 1930 she is listed as a widow living in the same town. her husband was about 9 yrs. younger, and had, also, listed his occupation as a miner on his ww1 registration card. that would put him in his 40s when he died. however, my gggrandmother's death certificate, which was full of erroneous info, listed her as divorced. i am trying to find out, if she was widowed, if her husband died because of his occupation in either an accident, or lung disease. i can not find a death certificate on either amos henry lowry, or her first husband, george wesley moore, who may have died between 1900-1903 either in hannibal or the salt river township area. i am also trying to find out about an child who died before 1910 (according to the census). this child is not the son she lost in 1913 named albert. i do not know the sex, age, or which husband was the father. are there any relatives out there, or history buffs who might be able to answer these questions? becky
