Cool Caves...bats...wine...

SEE? I'm not the only one!!!
The Wine Tasting option is in the lead...go, WT, go...

I, for one, think it would be mighty cool to have an annual forum event and I'd LOVE to see Meramac and/or Onondaga. I've only been in the cave at Silver Dollar City!

I'm up for a drive of up to a couple of hours unless it's a camp-out or something like that...then I'd say 4-5 hours.

That's my two.
I'm out.

CaboolBound is on a distinguished road
We are up for anything......would kids be included? We have a 16,15 and 13 yr old. Just wondering. Weekends would be nice. We would be willing to travel maybe an hour in either direction. A pot luck dinner would be fun. We are willing to have it at our house sometime as soon as we get our flooring issue settled.

And while your 'coolin' off', let me just say your suggestion for 'cavin' sounds good to me. That'd be the perfect place for some lighthearted group fun!!! But you know.....you'll have to take the helm and be the Commander on this mission. Are you up to it? I mean....what if you have underground Mass Histeria????? Ok, Ok....so maybe it's just me...LOL Should I take my Dramamine??? As a lifetime member of the 'White Knuckle Brigade'...the truth is that I've only been in one cave. But honestly, when it was all over, I have to admit...it was pretty cool. That, and the fact that I lived through it....definitely a good thing.

Your idea about gathering geographical info is probably not a bad thing either. It sure would help coordinate things better. However, I fear there are many that would like to keep their exact location on the 'down low' for privacy reasons....which isn't a bad idea. One suggestion might be that we can either poll for 'general' areas, like SW SE NW NE Central, or ask how many miles from...Springfield, West Plains, Kansas City, St. Louis, etc....or something along those lines. And at the same time, ask how far they are willing to drive for a gathering, whether it be for the OTFCC or for a special event.

Or, we can email our info to a trusted committee member and have them map it out and post the results in a generalized way.

Just a few thoughts.....ya'll think it over, add your ideas and we'll come up with something.

Over & Out for now,
Boof
Boof lady - hey there! Just a quick note before I need to retire so don't fall asleep during the exciting presentations tomorrow... , but yea, if there be interest in some caving, wild and/or commercial, I'd be honored to put such together. I've access to equipment [helmet & lights] for those that would like to go under in a 'real' cave. Also, in case anyone may have any concerns, to my knowledge, during the past 15+ some years I've been doing this, I've never heard from anyone that I've lost during such trips... There are various caves that I've used in the past to torment, scare, errr... I mean, to show non-cavers what such a world is like w/o the walkways, handrails, and bright lights. Just holler if interested, and when back that way we can coordinate then such a trip.

As to your other ideas there, those sound quite good. I would nominate for the trusted person yourself, or, even tho' they are real estate agents , LJ or NWV.

Say what?!?!? You mean these places are dark, damp, and scary, and are filled with sightless critters?!?!
Damn,,, noone ever told or warned me about such!!!

Well, now that I think about it some, yea,,, maybe so... hmmm... guess that would explain the slippery floors [I just thought I was drunk, as it is always a good thing to become inebriated before going underground], them pointy down things from the ceilings [that bloodied my scalp], the flying mouse things that tangled in my clothing [and then licked the blood that trickled down my face and neck], the sloshing water that goes up to THERE!!! , and those mysterious sounds that sounded like faint screams and muffled cries that echoed in the endless unexplored passages.

So, ya all ready to go now?
