Reed Springs, Missouri area
Hi from Adrian, Missouri- south of Kansas City about an hour. Relocation to the Stone County area may be in the near future for our family (dependent on a job interview) and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. My parents live in Branson and my husbands family live in the area also (Billings, Gainesville, etc). Part of the reason we are considering the relocation. Just came across this board that seems to have honest and open opinions. We are pretty sure we would be headed to the Stone County area and are leaning toward Reed Springs School District. Any advice, recommendations, etc greatly appreciated!

Welcome, snave25! Glad you found us! A word of caution, tho...hanging out here becomes a habit...
Reeds Spring School District is very popular, and includes the towns of Kimberling City, Branson West, Cape Fair & all points in between...so you'll have lots of real estate to choose from. Also Branson School District is considered very desirable...both have new campuses and good sports programs, which you won't find at many small high schools.
I live and work in the area and would be glad to answer any questions you have...
As far as the market in general, you'll see the most long term appreciation (in my humble opinion...) if you look for property that is lake front or lake view.
(You'll also enjoy living here better... )
It's a wonderful fun place to live!
I moved out from CA a number of years ago and consider myself a permanent transplant!
So...what kinds of things are you wondering about?
We're here to help!

Hi there, snave25! Just wanted to say that Lake Junkie is definitely your one-stop source for information about Branson-area real estate and other information on the area, including Reeds Spring. We also have among us in our MO forums Northwoods Voyager, but I'm not quite sure what region she covers. But by all means, come right in here--the water's fine! Fire away with any questions you may have!

Table rockin'.....Now snave25, let me just assure you that I am not aware of any significant seismic activity that has affected the Stone County area--at least since Hector was a pup, that is...
My older brother used to own a kitchen table that had some screws connecting the round-shaped table surface with the base. Maybe it was because the screw threads got stripped or something, but it couldn't be tightened enough to prevent the table surface from staying perfectly level whenever you would put plates, dishes, pork steaks, Beef Wellington...or your elbows on it. Whenever my mom (God rest her soul) and I would go over to his place (my brother's, not God's) to have dinner, we'd put our elbows on the dinner table out of habit, causing the wine in our glasses to swirl around, and even come close to spilling sometimes! Now that was some table rockin'!! Just thought I'd share that with you. Isn't that lovely?
Yes, all of us here who have come to know you, Lake Junkie, can say you're a high-pressure real-i-tater who always makes customers buy on pure impulse. Yep, that's right! Hmmm...what else can I say about you that will cause a severe case of Snave Shivers???!! Snave25 my friend, don't mind us. Real-i-tators just wanna have fun along with the rest of us MO Forum Folks!

Northbayeric, dressed up in cap, gown, tassel and hood: LJ, don't you know that you're using improper English grammar here? You didn't??! That sentence is supposed to read, "Although with a screen name like that, I reckon them can take care of theyselves." There, ain't'cha glad I was able to come along and point out this glaring error?? I wouldn't've been able to if I hadn't've gone to this forum thread just in time!

Ya need be careful what ya say eric people new to the forum that do not know our friend Lake Junkie might take you seriously. She has helped me quite a bit. Not at all high pressure. In fact, I wish she would drive to Cali and come pick me up and throw me into a home in Mo. I explained to her in little detail what I was needing and she sent only properties that met my
criteria. That was actually a first for me. She realy listened. She is just realy knowledgable of the area and fun to work with. As we say here in Cali " we totaly trust her dude"
