Those Branson Veterans' Day Parade pictures are wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing them, LJ; and you and your Dad must be very proud of each other!

Mrs. G., I am actually pursuing a job opening in Weston! I am dearly hoping this organization will hire me, as it pays more than the two jobs I recently applied for but didn't get (one in Liberty and the other in St. Joseph). I'm waiting for it to call me to arrange a phone interview time. Anyway, Weston is on the Missouri River between Kansas City and St. Joe, a bit west of I-29. I didn't get a chance to see Weston during my September trip back there, but it sounds like a small, quaint historic town. Not that much in the way of available real estate there; and property taxes are quite a bit higher there than in St. Joe, so if this job works out and I get it, I would make the commute from St. Joe.

Meanwhile, I'm still here in California, and wishing I were there--very much! I have to trust that the Good Lord has a great plan for my wife and I, and I need to be patient.

I am acquainted with your grief, Eric! When, God, when? Where, God, where? Ohhh, yeah...I can relate!

I pray God will open and close "doors" for you as He sees fit, knowing that He knows what's best for you...and I pray He will do it quickly!

So, when you get the job, will you have a house to sell in Santa Rosa?

Thank you ever so much! Bless you for keeping us in prayer for making this work out. Our house went on sale two weeks ago! My wife has been great friends with a person whose husband is a realtor. He is working with us to get our house sold. It's on the MLS; and this past Thursday an estimated 43 other realtors came over when he opened our house to them. Everything is in motion, to be sure!

I got a little bit of a scare earlier today when StJoeFanatic sent me a PM letting me know that the "For Sale" sign to the house I've been eyeballing in St. Joseph was taken down! Very concerned, I called the local realtor who I met during my September trip back there. She told me the owners have temporarily taken it off the market with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, and they wanted to focus more on their three children as the winter season approaches. But they'll still sell their house to me even before they put it back on the market! Thank God, huh? This buys me a little time to get our place sold here and for me to land the ideal job in the St. Joe area. Maybe the owners would be open to me buying it but not actually moving into it until sometime early this coming year. And Easter Sunday is going to be very early in 2008.

Somehow God has a great plan for us, and we have to figure out what it is, and keep being obedient to Him each and every day. Again, I'm profoundly grateful to you! And as you all supported SJF when her circumstances appeared grim and her house wasn't selling, I thank each of you at this time--Boof, Lake Junkie, Da Jammer, Cali BassMan, MoNative34...you all know who you are! OK, maybe it's a little early, but just the same....

Apologies for getting off topic! Maybe I can make a recovery by saying it will be a *Missouri event* when Mrs. NBE and I get moved back there once and for all. There, all fixed!

Thanks, Shadow! You're not such a scary shadow guy after all!

If everyone hasn't seen the Springfield Chamber of Commerce' Events Calendar page, here's a link to it. When you get there, just click on the month and year you're looking for and it'll give you a list of events:

Question Looking for holiday events?

Here's an article from the News-Leader (Springfield's newspaper) with a few events around the area to "kick off" the holiday season:

News-Leader.com | Weekend

I just noticed that there is a column on the right side of the article that has a BUNCH of other events so be sure to see it all!!! Have a great weekend, everyone!!! ;D
