Carthage is very proud of it's local artists-Bob Tommey, Bill Snow, Lowell Davis(used to live here) Andy Thomas, and of course Precious Moments guru Sam Butcher. We have an active group of people promoting the arts.
Couple more "things to do" this fall:
Hermann Octoberfest
Monthly Calendar in Hermann Missouri MO
Kansas City Renaissance Festival (actually in Bonner Springs, KS)
KC Renaissance Festival

Hobbes, sad he can't be there...
If by chance any of yas have even an inkling of a desire to hear and experience some really talented, awesome, phenomenal, great, wonderful music, might clear your calendar and make way to that event that NWV posted above... just now realized that Smokin' Joe Bonamassa will be there... hot damn, that guy will set that guitar to fire and then cool it down to such a level you will be in a lullaby, and then crank back up w/ some kick-arse blues tunes... amazing singer, writer, player.
The only others that I am familiar with and can thereby vouch for are Anthony Gomes, Leon Russell, and the North Mississippi All Stars
All of these cats are way too...
