Depends on what your definition of 'nice' entails... JC is a smaller town, that then has the pros/cons of such size. Relatively quiet, has some nice rolling topography, near the MO River, home of the state capitol, a nice shopping district, yet,,, you won't find much, compared to larger burgs such as Columbia [just ~35 minutes to the North on a very pleasant drive up US63], Springfield, etc. Just depends on what you are looking for.

Hey-
I was born and raised there. It is great town. Kind of small town feel for 40,000 people. Great housing at reasonable prices, you are close to wineries, the Katy Trail, college sports, state parks, a great nightlife in Columbia, the Lake, and halfway between KC and STL. Pretty good statistics.
