Default Oregon County/Thomasville, MO

Does anyone know how to get to Bellah Cemetery? It is in Oregon County near Thomasville. Any help would be appreciated.

Default Bellah Cemetary near Thomasville

First off, I think this is incredible. Someone posting a question, and many months later someone reading it with the ability to help. That is how I found out where my great grandfather, a Condferate soldier, was buried in Jackson, TN.

Here you go... I have never been there, but have a garmin GPS that allows searches of geographic features or names. I have 106 topo maps of Missouri in it. A simple name search for Bellah Cemetary revealed its exact location.

The gps coordinates are: N 36 47.286' x W 091 32.441'

If you have a gps, can get one, or know someone with one that will lead you right to it. If not, let me try to give you directions from the map.

It is directly West of Thomasville. Go West on County Road 422. This runs off Hwy 99 right at the South edge of Thomasville. It looks to be about .4 to .5 of a mile west of 99. It is on the North side of 422. There is another cemetary just to the West of it called Lane Cemetary. They could be ajacent to each other. They look to be several hundred feet North of 422 on an un-named, probably gravel road.

I hope you find this, and hope it helps you..

Namaste,

Jim

Default Looking for the grave of Sophia Miller

My great grandmother died at Thomasville, Mo. and we have been searching for her grave for three years and have not been able to find it or anyone that knows where she was buried. We think it was some time around 1880 when she died but just guessing. Her name was Sophia (Soldo) Miller and she was married to Carl Miller who was a mail carrier from Thomasville to Alton. If anyone has any information would really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks so much. my e-mail fernharris@charter.net

Bellah Cemetary is on County Rd 422, road is on the south end of the bridge over the 11 Point River. Cemetary can be seen from the road BUT it is about 200 yards off the roadway in the middle of a horse pasture now. Fenced area. Owners are a bit farther down the road.
