We have spent several trips to Clinton and it has alot in the town for it's size. Folks have been very friendly and we all enjoy fishing so the lake is great. Free community center, they gave us a tour of the place and it is a great plus for the area. Great library, free wifi downtown, very nice downtown area (maybe the best I've seen), nice senior center, new high school and could go on.
Anyone have good or bad information about the area? It doesn't to appear to have grown much over the last several years and seems like it would have with all that Clinton has to offer.

Small town, mostly blue collar jobs and a fairly high (10% or so) unemployment rate probably doesn't attract a lot of people other than those interested in the town square shops and historic aspects.

I have family in Clinton and have spent a fair amount of time there. I think it's a nice town. Clean, safe, kids seemed to like to go to school there (all recently graduated over the past few years or so).

Do you see the town itself as accepting of folks to move into the area? Everyone we have talked with have been very freindly but noving there and living ther may be different I didn't know. It has very slow gorth so I thought the town might be mostly generations of family and not many from outside the area.

Clinton from what I understand is a quiet, little Midwestern town just southeast of Kansas City. Much slower-paced and laid back than its neighbor to the north.

Well Clinton has always been welcoming to me.
I will say, for all of Missouri that I have been to, if you are friendly, not critical, and bring a positive interest in what is going on in the community without trying to tout your own personal agenda, you will be more than welcome.

Oh and the best Mexican is at El Sombres, IMO, although I have several friends that prefer the other place near Applebees (can't remember the name).

Go spend a spring weekend in Clinton. Walk some Katy Trail. Truman Reservoir is just a couple miles away.

See it to believe it. Eat at one of the best restaurants etc.

Ya we love El Sombres! We eat there a good share of the times we are in town. We didn't have time today as it was a down and back trip for the most part. We like El Camino as well, just seem to hit El Sombres more often. We haven't found a town that has anywhere close to what Clinton has for a town it's size and col. We love everything about the town and area itself, just think it's odd not much info about the town here.
