This sounds like a lot of fun to watch:

Hummingbird Events

I have caught hummingbirds in our garage. They fly in and can not figure out how to get out. They are so tiny and their little hearts go a mile a minute!

I've had a whole bunch by now. I just took down my feeder because I hadn't noticed any hummingbirds in several days. My feeder stinks! I usually change it once a week, maybe I need to change it more often. I hate to bleach it but I have to. I'll have to be careful to rinse it really well. I hope you get some hummers soon! Where are you in MO?

Do you guys and gals buy specific feed, or do you just put sugar in water? Maybe thats my issue, a sugar to water ratio that isnt right, I still don't know, it seemed to work previous years.

So how much longer will the hummingbirds be around? I refilled my feeders yesterday and I'm seeing visitors regularly. I hate to see them go!

Christian, I just do sugar and water, 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. I do boil mine (and let it cool of course) before I set it out. I do not color it either. I hope you did get some hummers!

We were filling our feeders every evening and the primary feeder was still running dry every day while we were at work. That was, until Sunday. Filled it up Sunday evening and its still half full today. Every feeder tube would be occupied in the morning and evening daily with many more waiting their turn - but this week we have seen no more than 2 on the feeder at any given time.

I am guessing the cold weather over the weekend sent our little group south to Central America for the winter.

I wish them a safe journey and look forward to their return.
