Hummingbirds
Jim Lowe of the Mo. Conservation Dept. says that Missourians can expect to see some exotic hummingbirds this fall. He also advises that the bird feeders for the hummers can be left out well into November w/o hurting the hummingbirds as the exotic birds have adapted to colder temperatures.
If you have hummingbird feeders up, you might want to continue to do so. We still have a few around after haveing as many as 30+ a week or so ago. In the valley where we live, we never have been as fortunate as others in attracting 30-40 and more. It's been a pleasure this year for us.

Lordy, it was a mad house around our H-bird feeders this summer!! I think we went through 20 lbs of sugar easy It has slowed noticeably this last week or so...if I could just find a way to keep the daggum bees and yellowjackets outta the feeders

I wish We could have stormy cold days and warm summer nights. Thats perfection. Well for awhile anyway. Then you would have to switch around to hot summer days and cold stormy nights.
