Of course this is my kind of weather. Everything seems so crisp and clean smelling. Of course the hummingbirds are beginning to leave my area. Down from about 30 last Wed to only 8 today. Plus my gardens are starting to look a little weary.
Sounds like around here and I also love this time of year but miss the gardens when we no longer can get fresh vegeatables and such. I am glad that we have not had to use the ac too.

Default Gold Brick?

Ok.. congrats on the rep points DaJammer, but may I ask where the term "gold brick" came from for rep. points?

And no frost down here towards Branson. Veggies have slowed, but are still going strong. Our veggie garden is out at my Dad's place south of here in the Golden/Shell Knob area. We still have radishes, lettuces, tomatoes, cukes, peppers, chile's, turnips, etc. and a couple of watermelon are still on the vine. Winter/yellow squashes have started being harvested, but should be around for another few weeks. The tomatoes have slowed but we are still getting enough to last a week at a time. Potatos have been all brought into the garage for the fall. Most of the herbs are still doing ok, but are definitely slowing down.

A chat thread is a good idea...thanks for thinking of it.

Yep, just a place to kind of hang out and ramble, say what's on your mind, share anything that's not already covered somewhere else. The Gold Brick is what you get by those cute little green bricks that you already have, when you reach 1001 rep points. Many on other threads and forums have been rooting for da jammer to reach his 'Gold Brick' and he did !!!!

My vegetable garden is gone. The flowers, bushes, hostas and others are still here, but looking weary, tired, and droopy. the drought really took it's toll on so much around here in mid Missouri. Well , later...

Looks like I have to wait a long while before I get to move Mo now. My dh says were just not ready financially. He is being logical. Im just sad about it. Mom who was coming with us decided it was a no go for her also. She does'nt want to leave grand children and her mom who is still here. It was a lot of different reasons combined to make them change thier mind, not just my silly fears of karst .(Shadow!) I would like to thank you all especially you L.J for putting up with us and answering all our questions. I came in here full of questions and now I think I know more about Mo then I do about Cali. Its been real fun and maybe in a few more years we will be able to call Mo home. Thanks again.
