Congrats to Bentaxle - thats just too
Day two:
We drove around the Lakes; through Forsyth, Hollister, Blue Eye and Kimberling.
Drove past the place with the funny name 'ol
LJ keeps telling us about. Aux Arcs.
Finally found out how to pronounce it on Wednesday ... but thats another day.
It was a nice drive, and gave us a good feel for the area.
The soon to be Son in Law, stopped (in Blue Eye?) at one point so he could jump from one state to another.
I laughed and told him he could stand in two states at once,if he tried.
Took him a second, but he figured it out.
We were'nt able to stop as much as the Mrs. and I would have liked.
Rental car wasn't large enough to hold the whole bunch,so we had to caravan.
Being the visitors we were at the mercy of our resident tour guides.
Hollister would get my vote as a good place to live / work.
Obviously not dependant on the tourist season to survive.Yet close enough to capture tourist dollars.
It was quiet, but it was Sunday afterall.
The roads appear to be in good shape. Coming from the
LeftCoast it will be a welcome change.
California used to have the roadways to envy; now we have roadways to avoid.
When we got back to the Branson area, we split up. The girls went to see the wedding dress our daughter has chosen.
I tagged along to check out the hobby shop, which was across the parking lot. Dress store closed; hobby shop pretty nice!
The boys went off to light some fireworks. Redneck fun , eh?
