Awww it weren't nuttin. No one hurt, no damage, we build stuff for the big one around here.....
The Calaveras Fault runs from just east of San Jose up the East Bay along Interstate 680 thru Concord then disappears under the bay... on the other north side of the bay it may continue as the Green Valley fault but I'm not sure....

Default Thank You

Thanks Cali and Leftcoast, that helps. My baby brother lives in Novato. Wasn't quite sure where that was. I'm a southern cali girl not a northern cali girl.

Could tell by the use of "Cali". Up here, it's NorCal/SoCal
Unless you're Gov.Arnold .. but that's another subject.

Gotta wonder about Cali BassMan though.

I don't think I felt it! My wife, who was in the bathtub when it struck, thinks she did feel it. The funny thing about our manufactured house we live in is that when our washing machine goes on its spin cycle, the floor vibrates a little as it spins faster and faster, and makes it feel like there's a small earthquake! I've since gotten used to this, and probably don't recognize a number of small earthquakes when they do happen.

The strongest one I felt was a fairly small one that occurred a little over a year ago on the Rodgers Creek Fault on a Wednesday night when I was working. That one was a sharp jolt that vibrated the glass panes of the library building I work in.

I was so surprised to go to another news website later in the evening and read about the Calaveras Fault quake, initially measured at 5.6! I told my wife, geez! That's a pretty big one.
