More reports on news lately concerning the effectiveness of group prayer!!! This must work Our very best to 'Kim' and her family. And to you for your thoughtfulness. This sounds as if the right direction has finally taken place. Good luck to y'all.

At least, now, they feel confident with the Dr. and the locality.

Darlynn,

I've been out of the loop for a while, but if it's prayers you need, it's prayers you'll get. Your dear friend Kim will be added to my prayer list pronto. God bless your friend and her family...it's a very difficult time. Let them know we're pullin' for 'em.

Over-n-Out,
Boof

Hey Darlynn, I'm still nearby too, and still praying for Kim and her family. It's wonderful that Boof came back when she did, and is 100 percent on board with us just as she was last August and September in praying for my friend StJoeFanatic's house in St. Joseph to sell after having been on the market a long time. Thank you so much for this encouraging update! Our God is a God of miracles, something I know but too often tend to forget or lose heart sometimes if I don't get what I want when I want it (Forgive me Lord!). Please keep us posted on her progress! As much as you can, try to keep her husband from losing heart and despairing over this. I think about how I would do if Mrs. Northbayeric was in Kim's place. It would be really hard for me to keep going. So may Kim, her husband and whole family always know and be reminded that they will never be alone as they cope with this situation! Isaiah 49!

OK, Boof, time for your turn in the mercy seat! After not hearing from you in a little while, I thought to myself, oh goodness, Boof must have had some sort of horrible mishap with her turkey fryer, trying to fry a turkey this past Thanksgiving! Then a short while later, Mrs. G gave me the skinny about your dog Maggi. My own dear shih-tzu just turned 15 years old last month. She's doing adequately health-wise, but just likes to lay on either our bed or her own "diva bed" a lot. Two years ago, her right eye had to be removed. She's had dry eyes most of her life, and her right one developed severe glaucoma even though I gave her daily eye ointments. I was really depressed then, even cursing and hating myself because the Devil was telling me I was a bad dog owner and hadn't done enough to keep this from happening to her, and I was listening to him too much. Some pretty major spiritual warfare with me back then. But we all know that Satan is the father of lies, and is a furious, hating destroyer. I'm a good dog owner, and you, Boof, are a WONDERFUL owner--there's just no way Maggi could have lived a better life without you. I just want to make sure neither the Devil nor anyone else is trying to make you feel guilty when you shouldn't be.

We're all so glad you're back among us! Listen! Today, I'm making airline reservations for my wife and I to fly to Kansas City again. We are going to look at two wonderful houses in St. Joseph (the second was just put up for sale about 10 days ago), and will be there from March 27 to March 31. Our house is still up for sale here in CA, and we're hoping one of our friends, who recently got a new, well-paying job, will go ahead and buy it for his own wife and 8-year-old son (they're in a one-bedroom apartment in just an OK part of Santa Rosa). StJoeFanatic doesn't know about this yet, so when I contact her, hopefully my wife and I will get to meet her and Mr. StJoeFanatic once and for all. She recently got a job reassignment, which is good, but it's made her busy as all get out, and that's mainly why she's not been here in the forums. Otherwise she'd be in front of a computer for probably over 12 hours a day and feel like she's about to "hit the wall." But they're happy in their new house (it's only about 2 years old in one of St. Joseph's newer developments), and her neighborhood was spared from the ravages of last month's big ice storm, thank God.

So...gotta finish this long post! Obviously, let's keep praying for Darlynn's boss, wife and family. Could you (and all the rest of you) pray that if it's in God's will, A) our house sells soon and we can get to Missouri once and for all, and B) our friend here in Santa Rosa is meant to buy it? We think his wife especially would love living in our place. Blessings to you, Boof, and to you all!

Thumbs up MO Peeps Rule!!!

Now, THAT was a great post, NBEric! What a blessing you've been today!

I just wanted to say that I'm excited for your potential prospect of a buyer! I've been continuing to pray for you...and for God's timing of your sale and move...sorry, hahaha!...and will add this new "twist" to my prayers.

Darlynn, it's so good to know that your boss's wife Kim has such hope and confidence in her new doctor! I'll remember to pray for them to know God's peace in the midst of it all and for God to direct the timing and precision of her surgery, etc.

I know there are people who may not appreciate this use of our beloved forum for prayer and I want to say to them, "Thank you for not complaining about it." Some threads can become so contentious and I'm grateful that our MO peeps are such a wonderful bunch of people! I'm newly aware of what a blessing all of you are to me!

I love hangin' out with you all!!!

NBEric,

You've got such a wonderful, eloquent way with words. You are quite the wordsmith! The way you relay your feelings and what your heart feels is amazing, and I love reading every word you type. The sentiment is always evident. But what moves me more, is that you seem to know the hearts of others, and can somehow respond to what the heart doesn't speak. You should write a book of short stories or poems....it'd be beautiful.

Thank you for the warm, kind words. It's nice to know that someone can relate to what I've been going through....just by reading between the lines. Funny thing is...I didn't realize I'd shared as much as I apparently did. You know, I was talking to someone one time, (I wanna think it was MrsG, but I just don't recall), and we were talking about Maggi. I'd said I wish she new how much I love her and how much she meant to me. And she told me 'she knows by the way you speak to her'. And you know, I never thought of it that way. But you know, I think she was right. Since Maggi has been ill, I've made it a point to make sure she hears every word I don't speak.

This is the long way of telling you Thank You for reminding me of the blessing that I have now, and to cherish every moment I have left with Maggi. If you want to know a secret....I'm trying to absorb every moment with her; the feel of her soft coat, the look in her eyes, and her scent. (She smells like corn tortillas). And thank you for reminding me that because I can't work a miracle for her, that it doesn't mean she doesn't have every bit of my heart & soul. The devil does work overtime during these difficult times, and it's easy to fall prey to his deceit. But thanks to people like you & MrsG, and your insightful words, his death grip becomes less powerful.

You will be in my prayers that your house sells. It's time for you to come home. It's time for your dreams to start coming true. Please keep us posted, and know that if you need anything...you've got a friend.

Best wishes ALWAYS to you & Mrs. NBEric

PS: I'd give you a million reps, but I'm in rep jail right now.

Well MrsG, bein's as I'm your #1 FAN!!!!, http://bestsmileys.com/cheering/4.gif (broken link) you already know how much I enjoy hangin' out with you. I love how we can talk about everything and anything, and not realize that so much time has gone by. In other words, Thank you for always knowing just what to say. Your inspiration is priceless!!! If I know the gang here, Kim will be getting untold prayers coming her way. It's for sure she's already on my list. She's lucky to have a friend in Darlynn. And we're all lucky to have a friend in YOU!!!

Still Mushy,
Boof

Well, when you can't "put another log on the fire," (man, that was such a classic Tompall Glaser song back in the '70s! ), the common thing to do is to go over to your thermostat and adjust it so you can get more comfortable. But hold on there, Buckaroo! You may not have any luck with that if you're in California during the hot summer months. What in the name of Sam Hill??!!you might be saying. Well, that's if and when a California proposal gets approved that would give state energy regulators the authority to regulate your thermostat without your consent during an emergency electrical shortage--you know, rolling blackouts-- and require new homes, substantially modified homes and other buildings to have radio-controlled devices that can adjust the thermostat from a remote location. Check this article out from the International Herald Tribune, California wants to control home thermostats - International Herald Tribune, and try to laugh, because I assure you it hurts too much to cry.

This article states that by next month, this should be a done deal. So...what happens when an elderly home-bound person has his or her thermostat adjusted by some California energy regulator when it's 113 degrees outside in the shade? As is often the case not just in Palm Springs, but up in places like Redding and Red Bluff? Friends, things are getting pretty darn serious out here....a $14.5 billion annual state budget deficit at a minimum, a mountain of bond monies that have to be paid back with interest, and now this proposal. Please wish me, bentaxlecrew and Cali Bassman much luck in heading your way to stay, and soon!

(Edit): One more fun thought: The actual annual state shortfall might actually be closer to $20 billion. If I'm not mistaken, that's about as much as the entire annual state budget for Missouri! That's how much red ink we're drowning in here in Cali!
