In a more serious situation, I was walking out of our church this morning after Mass and saw someone lying on the ground with an ambulance and fire truck nearby. It turned out to be Sister Kathleen, who has been in our parish a long time, and who has served as a lector (the one who reads the opening announcements, first and second readings from the Bible, and the "prayers of the faithful") and eucharistic minister (Holy Communion). She apparently had a heart attack when she was walking down the stairs outside the church, and had fallen violently to the ground. This was less than 20 minutes after Sister Kathleen had given me and many of our other parishioners Communion. An eyewitness said her face was turning blue before the paramedics were able to rush over to the front of the church parking lot where she had fallen.

I will let you know how she's doing by the end of this week, but in the meantime, if I could come to all of you once again and ask you to keep Steve and Sister Kathleen in your prayers and thoughts, it would mean so much. And we'll all continue to pray for the peaceful repose of Brian Simpson's soul and for Darlynn's acquaintance Kim and her situation. Take good care, everyone!

It's times like this that I'm always glad that God put people like you on the scene to give Him an opportunity to do His thing. Sounds like God had plenty of praying helpers around for these two. I lifted them up to God in prayer today. Thanks for letting us in on the coup!!!

Anyway, thank you so much, Mrs. G! I'll ask how our Sister Kathleen is doing when we have choir rehearsal this Thursday, if I don't hear anything sooner.
