As you can see by the "little house" by my name I am a realtor but that is a very small part of what I do. I currently work full time at the University and have now for 30 years. I got my realtors license in January in anticipation of retiring from here in another three years and knew I would want to do something. So I work at the univeristy four 10 hour days and then at the real estate office on Friday's, Saturdays and Sundays and lots of evenings. I also am a alderperson for my small community and have done so for 18 years. Have been treasurer of my church for five years and in the past have been chair/president/etc of various school clubs and committee's. Since my kids are all now out of school I am happy to relinquich those duties.

Randy,
Sooooooo nice to see you again!!! I haven't seen you in quite a while, and it's nice to see you posting here. Glad you're still here. Please come back more often.
For 20 years, I was a Registered Dental Assistant. I loved it and was really good at it. But I swore I wasn't going to be a 45 yr. old assistant, and, the Dentists I had the misfortune to work with were so egotistical that I couldn't take it any more. Soooo, I got into Medical Billing for 4 years. I enjoyed that too, but alot of it entailed collections, and I'm not cut out for that type of abuse. After that, I was a Phlebotomist...yep....a blood sucker. hehehe That was fun, but I got offered a job to work in a Health Food Store, so I took it. The pay wasn't much, but I loved the work!!!!! It's amazing all the natural things out there that can keep us off of drugs and out of hospitals.
Currently, I am unemployed. I'm looking at something I can do from home. But part of us moving was so I wouldn't have to work. Let's see how long that lasts. LOL Another thing that I'd absolutely LOVE to do is work in a Hotel at the Front Desk.....eventually becoming a Concierge.
Sorry.......was that TMI???? Oh well....now ya know da scoop on the ol' boofster.

Nope. He was in the Marines stationed in San Diego. Didn't get involved in law enforcement until years later.

I love home remedies stuff. Let's talk about that.
Like for example if having trouble scrubbing your pots use baking soda and use baking soda for everyday use for cleaning house.
Got no toothpaste mix baking soda with salt and brush your teeth.
You dish soap to take off cooking oil off of shirts(make sure it is the dish soap that is a degreaser)
You elmer glue to black head off your nose area or face and when glue is dry peel of the glue.
Got a zit don't fret use honey and bandaid at night in the morning it should be gone.( make sure you clean area first before applying honey)

KB,
Unfortunately, I'm not well versed on homemade soaps & stain removers, etc... The areas I'm more involved in are health related, like.....Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs, Homeopathy, etc... However, I do feel that some of 'Grandma's' remedies have a place in our modern homes. Sometimes, you just gotta get back to basics. But, I digress...gotta get back on topic. We'll find a place to get into this more.

Home solutions, cleaning, and remedies...
Hey y'all. That home solutions and remedies sounds like a great new thread...for the whole forum. How about suggesting it the administrator?
I bet there are lots of good ideas out there.
I don't know much about homopathic solutions, but has anyone tried Magic Erasers? They are the best cleaning "tool" I've found. Cleans marks off walls, cleans fiberglass shower floors, cleans grease off stainless steel, and more.

MrsC,
Oh My Gosh.....they are the coolest things EVERRRRRRR!!!! I got one cuz it was dirt cheap. You know, thought I'd check it out to see if it was for real or not. It was amazing what it would do. I love em!!!
As for Natural Remedies for Home & Health....that would make a great forum. Maybe I'll present the idea to them and see what they say. At least maybe put it up for a vote? Good idea.....Thanks!!!
