Default Which area in MO best for me but to still visit family in Warrenton?

Hi everyone,

I am currently living in NW Arkansas (near the Bella Vista/Bentonville/Rogers area) and am wanting to find somewhere within driving distance from Warrenton, MO to relocate as I have family there. I would prefer to live in a more rural area (a small house or trailer on a little land for pretty cheap if possible) that is still within decent driving distance of Walmart, Target, a health food store, banks, grocery stores, etc. (hopefully not too far away).

I am conservative and a Christian, want a homebirth-friendly area, somewhere I can homeschool easily, somewhere I could have a little farm at some point and within driving distance of a health food store and other shopping - but still not 6 hours away from my relatives like I am now in NW Arkansas. Are there any areas you would suggest over others?

I have no idea which areas are safe and which are scary so any help would be greatly appreciated! I am looking to rent a (2BR or so) small house or trailer on a little land that is not in the city or too 'suburbs' so I can have a little privacy but not be so isolated that it is scary for a single mom with kids. I can't take apartment life anymore, I don't want a house in the noisy city, and I am not really a suburbia person either. However, if the suburbs were with the houses spaced out some I guess I could handle that.

Is it better to move west, east, southwest, ? of Warrenton to find an area like this? Would I be better off in Columbia, near St. Louis, Springfield (although I would not see them as often)? Which areas are better for homeschooling, finding a midwife, and still within reasonable distance to visit my relatives in Warrenton at least once a week?

I would like to keep the rent around $525/mo. maximum or much less if possible as I am on a VERY tight budget. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Suggest the OP look to the SW of Warrenton between Jeff. City & Warrenton. Frankly, the closer to St. Louis the less Conservative or Christian. Suggest the OP look along the Hwy 50 corridor.
