arjr is on a distinguished road
I have been researching and following the many factors regarding relocating for the past few years...which is why I am looking so closely at MO.

Here is some more data.

Thanks for all the great info, Inoxkeeper and arjr!

I especially appreciate the work that went into getting all those links, arjr! The topic of comparing cost of living comes up all the time in these forums so I've bookmarked the sites for future reference!

Inoxkeeper, it is a great thread and I especially appreciate that you named it well. You could have named it something like, "Great tax info for MO" and it wouldn't have been as clear or compelling. Thanks for creating it!

Default However for retiree's...

Mo, however, is not one of the best tax states for retirees. It was in the bottom 10 in the last survey but that was before the lawmakers changed to social security taxation laws (being phased in however). Hopefully, it will rank better on that score in a few years when the changes are 100% implemented. Check out the following.

What a great bunch of info! Thanks for the link, MrsC!

For the record, I guess they keep it pretty up to date since I saw Jeff City as the only MO location. It was #35 on the list, which was 17 from the bottom. Once again, that is one of the questions I've never known how to answer but hear often around the forum...tax breaks for retirees/is MO retiree friendly financially...something like that. I'm so glad you posted this and am sure others will in the future, too!
