I have seen it commented in the Webster County Citizen, that Seymour is spared many tornados that hit Springfield and the surrounding area because of it's terrain. This theory has been poopooed by meteorologist but that's the consensus by some of it's residents. Living 20 miles to the west and down in a holler, while we have had some wild thunderstorms and hail, tornados have past us by. Winters and humidity are as posted above, close to springfield in severity and frequency.
