We will be moving from Central Illinois around the Champaign, IL area to Columbia, MO in the next couple of months. I have been doing some research online and it looks as though the southwest area is the best place to be with kids? Can anyone recommend subdivisions that they like? Our children will be in preschool this year so I would love any suggestions on the best preschools in the area and also elementary schools, both private and public Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure about specific neighborhoods, but I highly recommend La Petite Ecole or The Language Tree for preschools. They are both immersion schools for French and Spanish.

Thank you so much! Would you have any recommendations on hospitals/pediatricians in the area?

Also what about elementary schools? I've heard Millcreek is good. What about Two Mile Prairie?

Columbia has two main hospitals, Boone County, and the University Hospital. I've heard both are great.

I don't have any children, so I have no personal experience with any schools in the area (although I've heard great things about the two immersion schools). However, I do know that Columbia has an EXCELLENT school system. I doubt there are any bad schools in Columbia.
