We are coming to Springfield area in Jan to look around. Good luck and wish us luck
Best of luck to yas, wherever ya may land

Curious, whereabouts in TN and/or 'bama are potentials?

How about the latest movers to Missouri? Any interesting stories to tell? How about any of us that moved around within the state of Missouri?

Well, it only took me one move to find happiness, but unfortunately I had to move away from there and have been miserable ever since.

I grew up in Michigan, and I really enjoyed it, but when I graduated High School I was ready for something different. So I went to college in Prescott, AZ. Man I absolutely loved that town. When graduation came, I was really looking forward to getting out and seeing something new, but I didn't fully realize how much I loved that place until after I left. After graduation I was commissioned in the Air Force and now I've been moving wherever Uncle Sam tells me too.

First I moved to Lompoc, CA (Central coast), weather was nice and area was ok, but glad I was only there for a year. I missed having seasons, and rain! Then I moved to Cheyenne, WY… that is the worst place I have ever lived. Just could not have been happier to move. Now I'm in the same boat again. I moved to Omaha, NE, it is where I wanted to go because it was the lesser of the evils at the time. It was closer to family and it had the job that (I thought) I wanted. I will only miss 2 things here… the zoo (awesome) and the local college radio station.

Now I'm moving again to Missouri (in 47 days), Knob Noster (Whiteman AFB) to be exact. It's kind of set off in a rural area, not near any big towns so I'm kinds looking forward to being closer to the country. I think I'm really going to like it in MO. We've got family in KC so we've visited plenty over the years, and it'll be nice being closer to them.

I don't think I'll ever love a place like I did Arizona (I just like the mountains and the desert too much), but I really think that I'm going to like MO better than any place I've been since!

We moved to Colorado from upstate New York when I was six. I grew up there and graduated high school. About four years after that I moved to Texas because my brother was down there. Was there for about three years. Met a girl, moved back to Colorado. Broke up with said girlfriend met my soon to be wife about four months later. We talked of moving to New Mexico as the job I had at the time had an opening. She mentioned she had a Grandmother that lived in Missouri. We moved there instead, got married, had two children, stayed for sixteen years, then made the move here to Gunnison, Colorado. After less than two years here me and the kids have had it! Back to Missouri we come!!! And don't plan to ever leave again!

Grew up in Connecticut, early 20's moved out on my own to NYC with a girlfriend. Loved it - moved back to Connecticut, met a nice boy who lived in Massachusetts, moved to Massachusetts, married nice boy and moved to AZ - lived there for 4 years - had planned to never ever leave AZ because I did and still do love it there - but Mom got sick so we moved back to Connecticut to care for her until her passing in '99 - moved around in Connecticut, then got a great job offer back in Massachusetts by Cape Cod where I am to this day - I love New England but long for something simpler, more laid back and closer to family so we'll be moving to Warrensburg, MO in about 30 days

I've had happiness in all these places because ultimately happiness is up to me to make but I'm hoping the move to MO sticks! Although I'm still gonna push for that little slab of something in AZ for retirement

moving to Fl has NOT made me happy at all! I will be happy when I get to look at this every day, in Sainte Genevieve County.

I must admit my wife & I are still trying to find our 'home'. We live in St. Louis, but don't plan to stay here much longer. I don't mind being here (I have family about 90 minutes away on the IL side) but my wife isn't real fond of the midwestern terrain or the city lifestyle - she misses the mountains and the dry air. Our next move will be to Idaho (so that I can finish school) then we'll probably be looking in New Mexico, Colorado, or Arizona.

Before that we had lived in northern AZ (where we met) and would never have left there except for my job, or lack thereof. We relocated to the Gulf Coast just before the rash of hurricanes hit in 2004. Moved to MO about a year ago to be closer to my family, but it wasn't a move that we really wanted, but certainly one that we needed.
