Default Redford, MO?

Anyone heard of it?

I live in TN - just moved here a year and a half ago. Love it!! BUT..........

I just found out that the Wildlife Dept bans both the breed of bird I have and the turtles and tortoises I have. I won't get rid of them, so I have to move. We'd planned on building a house in 4 or 5 years anyway. This info just puts us on the fast track in that direction.

We found some property that looks good in Redford, but there's almost no info on it out there. From the limited into I got on here for the county, it looks great.

We prefer a very very rural area with lots of acreage - the land we're looking at is +/- 120 acres. Politically we're conservatives with a touch of social liberalism. But just a touch!! I'm Southern Baptist, he's Catholic, but neither of us have attended church for years. Too busy with 6 kids and a full household of pets and rescue work and I work full time plus and he's disabled. As much as we know we should be going, we don't.

We'd like a town with friendly people that respect our military and emergency services personnel. As much as I'd love to retire and be home with him, I'm stuck working for quite a few more years, so I need to be within a couple hours of a good size city - I'm in hospitality accounting.

What things should we worry about? Is flooding a problem? Tornadoes? I'm a Florida island girl, and TN is about as far as I've ever been, so I really don't know the area that well. What's the weather like there? We have hot summers (upper 90s, into the 100s) and cool winters (teens and single digits). I can handle that.

Any other stuff we should think of?

raclew8832 is on a distinguished road
my grandpa lived in redford when i was growing up its the best place on earth to me. the weather is like what you sound like your used too . it may get a little hotter some days but not many. flooding will seldom happen the creeks get high some but i dont remember any but that would depend on where the land is.there is elington and centerville but as far as large towns most i remember are small close to there. if traveling a ways isnt a problem you may be able to get work in rolla or farmington there is another town named cape girado( not sure of spelling) if there is anything else i could help with ral8832@gmail.com . not sure of your race but when we visited not to freindly towards other than white could be different now though
