A Little CD Poem...Care to Join In?
With the holidays coming, I'm feeling nostalgic so I've written a poem to share my feelings about this wonderful little forum that I call "home", this place that's filled with my newest friends and brings me a smile as each day ends. Thank you all for making my days brighter and my load a little lighter. Hmmm...seems like I've got rhyming on the brain! I should have used those in my poem!!! Oh, well...here's the poem...which, as I think about it, is really an ode to all of YOU!
City-Data Forums, what a great place to be!
Each of the forums, like a little family!
We stumbled upon this wonderful site
But we find that we love it and stay into the night.
There are always those “cousins” you’d rather not “see”
And those who make this “the place to be”!
Sometimes a group hug is what you wish for
But there are times you may want to run for the “door”!
We all have our favorites, the people we love
Who just seem to fit us like a hand in a glove
There are mother and father figures and grandparents, too!
And you can’t wait to see what they’re saying to you!
But then it happens, you knew that it would
You help another…you knew that you could!
You just can’t believe the feeling you get
And it just doesn’t matter that you’ve never met.
So, come one and all to the CD Forum site!
We’d love to meet you and we won’t bite!
My personal favorite is the Missouri forum
Where you’ll find a truly southern decorum!
My first new friends when I moved to this state
Just happen to be from this forum. It’s fate!
And I look forward to clicking away
On my keyboard to visit each day!
I hope you’ll come back and visit our threads
Where we talk about anything that comes to our heads!
We’re posting and imparting wisdom and wit
And I’m sure you will find a place that you fit!
Here's a wish for a wonderful holiday season to all my friends and would-be friends here in CD Forum Land!!!

Aaawwwww, MrsG!! Thank you!!!
I knew I loved you, but That was lovely!!! My sentiments EXACTLY!!! I have to admit, I never thought I would get all "caught up" in a "cyber-relationship" with ANY forum, but I so look forward, everyday, to reading new wisdom, jokes and even sarcasm from the peeps at CD! I am hooked!!
Here, we can be "world" travelers, visiting old familar places and, as yet, undiscovered destinations, meeting all sorts of individuals. (Some more endearing than others, but, all unique and respected!) We can hear from our "friends" and make our day, or vent and voice our humble opinions.... Cheer for our favorite team, get advice on ANY subject, (whether taken or not.) Even easedrop on conversations where we have no input, (or shouldn't for whatever reason). I think this forum is what America is all about, and I don't mean the statistics, I mean DEEP Down, from the heart, genuine freedom and spirit!
LOVE IT and Love you, dear Mrs.G!!
got a tissue?

It IS a grand ol' forum full of grand ol' souls, isn't it?!
I could almost hear the patriotic music playing when I was reading your post!
Now, don't you get me started crying!!!

Lovely, Mrs. G. You have captured the spirit of CDF. And of course, we ALL know that the Missouri forum represents just about the best on CD. And whether we are 'cousins', 'close relatives' and/or 'friends', this Mo forum remains our home forum.

Thanks, Voyager! I agree with your sentiments and love your gif!!! Do I hear an, "Amen!" to that one!!!
It's funny you should mention the "cousins" thing. I used that word in the spirit of the "six degrees of separation" thing and because some geneticists believe that everybody on earth is at least a 50th cousin to everybody else. Sooo, friends, family, cousins...it's all the same!!!
Aren't you glad we don't have to buy Christmas presents for all of them???!!!

A CD Haiku for All of You!
Love it, love it, loooooooooovvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeee it!
I'm totally hooked.
Fun, cool Missouri forums
You guys are the best!
A grand ol' forum full of grand ol' souls, indeed. You all share good information in a courteous, friendly, down-to-earth, I'll give you the shirt off my back manner, and we all just have a terrific time. I'm over 2,000 miles from you, yet I feel a whole lot closer. I think sharing the pics with each other on one of the threads and then on the Over the Fence Coffee Club thread has helped to make the miles between here and there feel shorter. And I think we all share the same desire for simpler, more innocent times that thankfully still seem to be in abundance in Da Show-Me State. So my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you! I hope Mrs. Northbayeric and I can meet most of you face-to-face once we're settled in St. Joe and can make the drive down to the Springfield-Branson area.
Special thanks as always to StJoeFanatic as well as to Plains10 and da jammer, and to Christina0001, our newest moderator!
Obviously I couldn't agree more with Darlynn about giving thanks for our liberties and freedoms and doing the right thing with them (as we begin to hear the rolling snare drums accompany "America the Beautiful"). I'm so thankful my brother-in-law Noah will be able to visit his immediate family for Christmas before going back to Iraq, and we're praying for and wishing the best for Lake Junkie's daughter in the Navy.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to mrsgenealogy again.
