Default Taxes Need answers!

I'm moving to Aurora Mo. can anyone tell me how the personal property tax on cars in Missouri compairs to Kansas. How about insurance rates and taxes on homes.
How is much is the sales tax in Aurora?
In other words is it going to cost more or less to live in Missouri? I now live in Wichita kansas...
What about gas and elec. rates?
The taxes on cars here in Kansas are crazy...Makes me never want to buy a new car...but I do it anyhow.
Thanks in advance for your help............

Check Mo. Dept of Revenue for taxes. In Kansas i think it is by county. Can't say about insurance. I don't think there is much difference.

All you have to do as a new resident is go to the county courthouse and get a tax waiver. I moved here in June of last year and I've been given waivers twice now.

To my knowledge all the tax waiver does is tell the license bureau that you owed no personal property tax at the first of the year. You get the waiver when you first move to the state (say in July). Then at the first of the year you will owe personal property tax on your vehicle. The Mo Dept Of Revenue website has the info you want.

Many people that move to Mo near the KS/MO stateline are uninformed that you are going to pay sales tax on the vehicle in Ks as well as in Mo as well if you purchased that vehicle in Ks and then bring it to Mo.
