Will be moving to MO in a few months. Just wondering how dark can you have your windows legally tinted to?

Also does MO do state inspections?

Do they do emission checks also?

not sure about the windows. If you live in Missouri you must get a vehicle inspection. If you live in St. Louis or Kansas City you must also have an emission test.

Talking Eureka! I found it!

I don't know the answer offhand but I do know there are laws because my friend's son has gotten several tickets for his windows.

Actually, I decided to google it and came up with the following:

http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/MO/
http://home.pcisys.net/~bpc/auto_law/tint/
http://www.associatedcontent.com/art..._missouri.html

Good question!

35% + or - 3% is legal in MO without a doctor's note. I just had my windows done this week.... the only reason that I know!

Your vehicles must be inspected once a year at many garages or places of business who are approved as inspection stations. These places are regulated by the highway patrol vehicle inspection devision. You must also show proof of taxes paid before licenses can be bought.
I was once a vehicle inspector for many years in Mo.

When did they start the emission test for Kansas City?

Basspikr, I thought it was changed to every two years?

The following has pdf's about inspections and window tinting:

Yes, that is true. Due to the high humidity, the vast number of insects, and the risk of falling into sinkholes, all vehicles within the state of Missouri must have a hard top, or the convertible must have its top up at all times, to protect those inside.
