Default Princeton MO

I was born and raised in Princeton MO, and at the time, I thought the big city would be so nice because there is so much more to do. I eventually went to college, and now live in Iowa. I am currently looking to move back the the small town life to raise my child. I am in a fast pace environment here and I want to slow things down, life goes to fast the way it is.

I agree, that there is not much there, but that is one of the glories of a small town. Less stress, and a laid back environment. Cost of living is less, so you can raise a family with only one parent working. I have to drive 30 minutes to work today, so driving 30 minutes to Trenton or Bethany is worth it to get back to my home town!

Our farm was 8 miles east of the town of Mercer where I was raised. Graduated from Mercer High School in 1964. Princeton being the largest town in the county, it is also the County Seat.

In 2004, Mrs and I headed back to Mercer for my 40 year class reunion. And now we are planning on heading back for my 45 year class reunion this year, 2009 and for Mercer's Annual Homecoming celebration. And by the way, Princeton does have the only motel in the county... :-) Stayed there a week and really loved it.

Yes, after touring the county for days, I have to admit, the commercial hog farms have literally taken over the market back there. Yet that has also created quite a few jobs for some of the folks back there and provides a primary or secondary income for many of the county residents. Raising beef and milk cattle is still open for the many farmers, as well as standard field crops.
