Default Rural Warrensburg Move

I have a son and grandson who live in KC. My wife and I are considering moving to the rural area outside of Warrensburg, which would be close, but lower cost in housing. We are thinking of 5-10 acres with mobile/modular home and outbuildings.

My Questions:

1. In terms of enjoying the outdoors - woods, meadows, I've heard the chiggers and ticks are bad enough to make you want to stay indoors in the summers. Is that true?
2. My occupation is semi retired half time practice counselor and my adult son is a tattoo artist and construction person. How likely to be able to set up those practices and thrive in Warrensburg area.
3. How would Columbia outskirts, like Rocheport compare to Warrenburg outskirts on the above questions.

Thank you, Charles

My family lives in rural Warrensburg. I would love to move there. Plenty to do in Warrensburg, but still close enough to the city if you get bored. Warrensburg is a college town, and a growing community.

As for the chiggers and ticks, they don't bother me, I still spend lots of times outdoors. Those little critters aren't running me indoors in nice weather.

Warrensburg is a University town, and as long as the market isn't glutted, I would think both business ventures would do well, especially the tattoo studio.
