I could be wrong but I don't think that's true.

Yep, Franklin County (my county of residence) happens to be the Meth Capitol of the United States. Scary, I know.

Seems like meth is more a problem among 30-something adults than the school kids. At least that is who seems to be picked up for possession or manufacture in the police reports. I would make sure to meet in person anyone who has charge of my kids for a while-babysitters,parents of friends, etc. Although you can't always tell for sure who is using, some tell-tale signs are:
1. alarmingly thin, with hollow eyes and cheeks
2. jitteriness or lack of attention span
3. scabby arms or sores on face
4. bad teeth or losing teeth
5. sudden bursts of temper or paranoid
6. unusual bursts of energy followed by lethargy

Of course many of these symptoms can be seen for other reasons, but just something to watch out for. Working in a hospital we frequently see patients who test pos. with these traits

I don't do links, but check out the Official DEA Website. Google it.

There is a big difference between who's cooking it & who's using it.
In 2006 there were over 1000 meth lab busts in MO. All the midwest states being up there in numbers, but not many people were busted with methamphetamine possession compared to Southern states. In 2006 there was over 500 more kilograms of meth uncovered in Arizona than in Missouri.
I compare these 2 states, bc I live in AZ now & am counting down my days to be back to my home states Missouri & Illinois.

It's bad either way, bc this drug is killing & ruining people. But I'd much rather live in a state where the labs are being found & destroyed rather than in a state where people are tweeking their brains out.

I've sadly seen a good many people here who are tweaked out big time. Often the cooks are using themselves.
