Any other towns have a restaurant which is a favorite of locals, but others might raise an eyebrow? In Carthage, we have Taco Town. It's been in business for at least 20 years. Supposedly Mexican food, but with a flavor all its own. I don't really recommend you eat inside, just go through the drive thru. Order the cheese dip, which doesn't really seem like cheese but tastes great anyway. They are really going to be hurting when the new High School is built, since there will be no more open lunch hour. Usually school days finds cars lined up on the shoulder of the road. The waiters come out to the cars to take orders faster.
I would like to try some other local eateries-where are they and what should I order? |

There is a small place on the way to Theodosia, going towards Bull Shoals Lake from Gainesville, that has THE BEST STEAK I have EVER eaten. They are hand cut black angus, and are really the best I have ever had. Small place, seats about 15-20, but oh so good!! I cant remeber the name, but will check with my mom who would know.
