That's cheating! I like doing it the old fashioned way with a double bit axe.
I have a one swing method that works almost effortlessly. Of course I only have to cut wood once or twice a year so that does make a difference!

Nice splitter!

Freezing rain, snow, ice covered roads all around this part of Missouri. Weather channel has Jim Cantore in St. Louis today. More of this lovely stuff still on the way. I do not drive on ice. Will have to stay home and do my business from here. . Hope that y'all take care and are safe. St. Louis, Columbia, Jeff City, and Rolla covered also. Temp here is 23 degrees. Have a good day everyone!

I checked the obs and it appears areas of southern MO got quite a bit of freezing rain and sleet. I know the precip has ended across the region.

Using the splitter might be cheating and even though dahubby calls me a "tough old broad" I don't think I would have the strength to split wood any other way. And this splitter sure does make quick work of a stack of wood!

We got the splitter by trading a gun for it!

From Sacramento I just had my 1st hail storm since I lived here about 12 years. Reminded me of the midwest how the clouds get all dark. It was neat!

Made you homesick did it MoviaCa?
First time I've heard someone actually enjoying a hail storm.

The weather tends to be incredibly boring here. I really miss the midwest thunderstorms.

I'm with YOU, MoviaCA! We moved from CA about a year and a half ago and we love the storms here in MO!
Of course, that is until something happens as a result of the storm...and then I just feel remorse.
