Default Bad Hair Club - I am a member

Hi Aragyx6,

That's funny about your hair....feel your pain. My normally straight hair develops a frizzy halo...very attractive, as you can imagine.

Last year in Springfield it was 99 degrees on August 15. That's excruciating, no matter how you slice it.

St. Louis only broke into the low 90s during that heat wave. I couldn't find stats for farther north in the state, but it's a safe guess it was cooler than St. Louis.

Default Some like it hot! Some like it cold!

Hi Berrie,

How hot does it get in Wisconsin in the summer? Any 99 degree heat waves in your neck of the woods? I've heard that you acclimate to the weather to a certain extent...but the extreme cold or extreme heat can be downright dangerous. Didn't you have a winter tornado in Wisconsin this year?

Where in SE Missouri do you live?
Northwest of the Bootheel, about an hour from Arkansas. When I was like 14 we had a big heat spell where it was over 100 everyday, but it usually doesn't get above the 90s.

Also, it seems like we hardly get any snow here (although we've been out of school all week due to ice, although it is slowly melting now and it's supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow and snow again Friday), then it seems like Springfield gets more, STL gets more, and KC gets the most snow. I could be wrong about that, but that's the way it seems.

I feel like KC gets a lot of ice whereas STL gets snow. That's completely anecdotal and not in anyway based on facts though... I need to look that up.

Heat like that undoubtedly causes some B.O. in M.O.

In elementary there was a kid who put on deodorant every time we came in from recess.

It may be that hot on a handful of days, yes. Not the entire summer.
