Default Ft. Leonard Wood area

Hi all! My husband and I are on our way to FLW this summer, and we're so excited to be coming "home." We've been stationed there before, but we were both single and living on-post back then.

And that was several years ago; I understand the area has "grown up" a lot over the last few years. Though I hear Big Louie's still exists.

Now we have children and are looking to either buy or rent off-post. How is the market doing? Are the schools pretty decent?

Any area suggestions? We'd like enough land to raise a few chickens and raise a garden like we do here in Alaska-- can that be done in the city limits of Waynesville or St. Robert?

Let me be the first to welcome you back to Fort Leonard Wood! [mod cut...] there are several properties for rent and for sale in the St. Robert / Fort Leonard Wood area. [mod cut] there are several duplexes and single family homes being built. [mod cut]

I wouldn't put my kids in their schools. I've known people who have moved from there just to get away from their schools.
