Dad killed a doe.
He was cleaning her, and noticed that on one foot, her toes were uneven and the foot was swollen.
He figures the doe was probably hit by a car at some point. She had a fawn with her, but they're old enough to be on their own.
On a side note, I've been hearing geese tonight. I think they're finally flying south for winter.

Sounds as if y'all have a freezer full of Venison. Good going for your Dad! I wanted to get out into the woods today, but the weather didn't cooperate. Maybe Monday or Tuesday.
Yes, geese are moving south. I hope. They sure do make a mess around here. Our picnic tables and benches are always messy with the geese' gifts. Pretty to see them flying tho'.

I've only shot a Button Buck this Firearms Season. With three Deer in the Freezer should have enough to do the year four would be better. Then wanting to get a couple for Jerky and Summer Sausage for the Kids for Christmas.
Dang rain has been giving me fits as far as getting out.I've seen where a Buck has been hanging around the house I just haven't laid eyes on him.
Thinking of going to our Cabin at Truman next week.

It's chilly this afternoon. It's like 45 degrees, windy, and rainy.

Are you here with me in Hooserana?
Here's to counting down days till back during Turkeybreak in land of springs & caves, sweet Missouri air, friends/family, gooey butter cake, Blues, Alex's pizza, and the wonderful old worn down hills & valleys, with the moss covering the sandstone outcrops under the cedars by the softly flowing crick...

I will be happy to see Thanksgiving here. We have been invited to my DIL's family for the day!!!! Yea, no cooking for me this year. I am happy about that for some reason. May have to roast a turkey just for the fun of it. And the leftovers of course.
An early Happy Thanksgiving to all!
