It's weird how things change, isn't it, Voyager? I can remember coming here every day throughout the day for months on end. C-D was such a lifeline for me in those days. I've made some wonderful friends here and even if we don't all keep in touch like we used to, you all still feel like family to me.
What a lovely update you've given! I'm saddened at your loss and at realizing you will have to leave your lovely home, too. Of course, I'm so happy to hear you have found employment that fits your schedule and especially happy to know you are doing something that you are uniquely qualified for! Did you quit doing real estate altogether? I assume you'll keep living in the same area, right?
I finally found part-time work and am busy trying to get another business off the ground, too. I'm having website issues right now so that's a bummer! It's selling something we call a Toe Tent to help keep blankets off people's feet at night and I'm having some sort of fluke problem accepting payments. I came here today to see if someone in the computer forum can offer any advice. Then, I saw your post and just HAD to respond. Thanks for revitalizing this thread! Hugs to you from MrsG!

So, how are y'all??? I applied for part-time employment at a local Nursing Home and was fortunate in being hired at pretty good hours, Mon. through Fri. and an acceptable hourly rate. I work in the Alzheimer's/Dementia unit and assist 12 to 15 residents with their evening care. Since this was one of the major problems of my dear husband, (he passed away last Feb.) I have experience and hopefully do contribute to the well being of 'my' residents.
Not too bad for an 'older' lady!!! I try to decide which one of our residents is more like what I'd want to be if I become a dementia patient......a wanderer, a hoarder, a weeper, and the list goes on. Just hope not to become one who is all of the above at the same time!! They are to be respected and loved. Each and everyone of them are special to those of us who work in this Unit.
Now if only I would/could put as much effort into readying this house for putting it up for sale within the next 2-3 months. Anyone out there want to help with washing windows, cleaning out storage buildings, etc...??? lol
Well, need to quit for now and again, wishing everyone a very good year.

Welcome, Bluff_Dweller! I'm trying to figure out what to call you...Bluff?...Bluffy?...Dweller? Hmmm...I guess it doesn't matter as long as you feel welcomed so here I am just to say, "Welcome!" and offer you a smiling face. I don't come here as often as I used to but I hope you will find it to be as friendly and resourceful place as I have!

Thank you for the welcome and smile, MrsG. Having been called many things, I will answer to most anything.
My retirement in '96 allowed me to start my genealogy. I found many helpful cousin family searchers. Old handed down family letters, Christmas cards, documents are finally piecing together my family history. I am pretty good at searching and collecting, not so good in recording in an orderly fashion.
Thanks again for the warm welcome.
