Girl, I think we're almost there as far as making our house more presentable is concerned. Our friend who has been painting the inside of our place, should be all done sometime next week. And I got a phone message earlier today from the kitchen countertop installers. They want to come out this coming Monday morning and get that done. Oh, and our friend's roommate wants to start a house power-washing business, and has offered to do ours for free so he can try his power washer out (I'll make sure he keeps the pressure low enough! ).

To Jammer, Mrs. G., and Boof: Along with my undying thanks to each of you, I wanted to mention that my wife until recently wasn't very excited about visiting Branson once we get moved back there. Then along with a multitude of visitor pamphlets we've received from every corner of Missouri, we got one for some great, very reasonably-priced vacation homes in a more secluded area, somewhere between where all the theaters are, and Branson West. When she saw that there are some areas of Branson that aren't all busy and crowded (she already knew it's a pretty area), she changed her mind and wants to visit! So obviously, an OTFCC gathering should totally be a matter not of if, but when for us. What a way to kick off our new lives as MO residents! St. Joe will be only 4 hours away or less from there, and we could go near Joplin one way and through Springfield the other way.

Anyway, thank you again--and fifty bones to spend over at overstock.com, a site I have never visited! My "land of California" reference--I was thinking how God brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt when I wrote that! No matter how high the price of gas gets, we won't be wandering for 40 years out on the interstate highways. Hopefully less than 40 hours of driving till we arrive at our new home. Many blessings and sunny, warm days for all of you back there!
Eric,

Awesome news that the Mrs is willing to go to Branson. Whatever the reason, it works!!! Since St Joes is so far away, I'm sure we can get a special date set up if that's whats necessary. I don't know about the others, but this has been a loooooong time coming, and I'm not gonna miss that one, no matter HOW HIGH the gas prices get!!!

And, just for what it's worth, when Hubby & I drove from CA to MO, we left the Modesto area on a Weds at 1pm, and got into MO on Fri at around 9pm. Now, we were traveling with our dog, so we made a few more stops than some might. We stopped in Kingman AZ the first night, and Moriarty, NM the 2nd night. From Moriarty, we drove all the way through to MO. So, it made for a long day, but when we got to Oklahoma City, (our next resting spot), we were too anxious to stop, and just drove the rest of the way. So, hopefully, you and yours will make it in no time.

We'll be waitin' for ya. Oh, and, just a thought....if you have a friend here that you are willing to exchange phone #s with, we'd love to have you call from the road to let us know you're ok and closer to home. I know, maybe I'm just making too much of this...but you know how we are about family....

Thanks for keeping us posted on the house activity. We'll be waitin' for more good news from you as it develops.

Hugz,
Boof

KBear,

Looks like you've been busy. Those look very nice. I especially like the hat.....how cute!!! Soakers? I've never heard of them....looks like I've learned something new today.

Glad to hear you and the baby are both doing well. We look forward to pix when she arrives.

Thanks for sharing,
Boof

KareyBear how cute. I love crocheting baby things too. Glad to know you are doing great. Maybe I should make a couple pairs of those soakers for myself....you know for that occasional. bladder control problem..

Hubby and I took a long walk through the woods on our property yesterday and found 40 mushrooms. Going to fix them with breakfast this morning....YUM-O The only problem we had was we found more ticks then mushrooms. I am one itchin' fool this morning.

I was sitting outside Saturday morning drinking my coffee and Gator (the pug) was sniffing around out by the garden area and started barking and a big Hen Turkey took off from about 5 feet in front of him. He thought he was tough stuff!

Hope everyone has a great day

I wish I could knit or sew something. I cant even seem to patch up holes in my kids clothes. Heck I cant even do the laundry proper. I can cover up a stain with paint though.

I just went through my interview with the school police department. Im not feeling so confident. Who knew they asked all those questions. Skeletons in my closet? Hows my credit? Sheesh! You know.. Im genuinely a good person. I have maybe one skeleton that I told them about. I never been in trouble. Yes Ive taken a prescription motrin that was not prescribed to me ..I cant help but wonder if Im done for. I think Im just upset because I felt so confident before and now I feel like im a bad person. Definitely a humbling experience. I have a lot of respect for you Jd and NWV.

Yeah, but I'm sure they give every applicant the same kind of drill, so try to chin up and we'll all pray and hope that you get chosen! If this doesn't work out, maybe it will in the near future, or an even better opportunity will come along.
